This is the second time since March we have stayed, 3 & 4 days each time,respectfully. Room was clean and ready at our check-in. The hotel is not brand new, but the beds, towels, sheets, and personal care products, like shampoo, feel fresh and very up-to-date. The staff is friendly, helpful, and efficient!! The location on the corner of 57th & Lexington, is well located for the Upper East side. The rates are very competitive compared to other hotels in the area. Hotel 57 is quiet, though it is on too busy streets, so NYC noise is part of your stay. My wife and I plan to stay here 2 to 4 times a year as we visit our daughter. This hotel was a very basic, no frills accommodation. There was absolutely nothing special about the place, although the rate for the room was nearly $400/nt. (probably due to the World Cup). There were no amenities. A rooftop terrace was advertised (even with a nice table setting shown on the website) but there was nothing (no tables, no chairs, nothing) on the rooftop terrace. The room had a couch that was falling apart and the other furnishings were tired and were in need of an upgrade. The only plus was the location of the hotel. I would not stay here again for half the price.

The hotel is terrific and in a central location to many things. Easily walkable to multiple tourist spots and wonderful restaurants. The staff is amazing, professional and friendly! Rooms are clean and very comfortable. View from the rooftop deck is outstanding! Overall, it could use some updating, but other than that it is a wonderful place to stay. Highly recommend!

This is a nice little hotel. Well located. A little old but well maintained. I was on floor 3 with rear view, it was dark but quiet which is rare in NYC. The room was very simple. TV was nice. The bathroom amenities were not very nice (soap made in china with a long list of ingredients), bring your own. I would recommend it for a business trip during which you just spend sleeping hours in the hotel, if the price is competitive.

Despite a good location and a staff that seems to be eager to please, there were a few issues. A request for a safe deposit box was met with mild confusion. But the in room safe was delivered to the room. One question: Why was it not there already? There was also an extreme delay in getting my particular room cleaned upon my arrival. A hotel manager's tip is to tell the houskeeping staff to clean the room in question so that the guest can occupy the room promptly. The wait was 3 hours for the room which is crazy. Common sense answers to simple issues seems to be a problem for all hotels and it is not that difficult.
