The room didn’t look as good as in the pictures and the beds moved easily as they are on wheels. I feel the room also wasn’t very clean when we arrived. The breakfast was ok and staff were helpful. Location was good.

Mariner’s Court is an absolute gem!
Our stay at Mariner’s Court was really good. The hotel is a boutique hotel and is budget friendly. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The linens and towels were very good quality. An added bonus is the semi private garden (shared with one other room) that is accessed from the room. A very nice place to sit and relax outdoors in privacy. The location was perfect for my wife and I. An easy twenty five minute walk through one of the most beautiful botanical gardens I’ve seen gets you to the opera house and circular quay. Otherwise the bus at the end of the street takes you downtown, or you can take a ten minute walk to the Kings Cross train station taking you anywhere in the city. Of course, the included breakfast has to be brought up. It is a full hot breakfast with lots of selection and something for everyone, it was truly amazing! All-in-all this hotel maybe budget friendly, but it hits way above its weight class. Excellent value.

Jeg havde desværre en meget skuffende oplevelse på dette hotel. Generelt fremstår hotellet i en dårlig forfatning og trænger til en omfattende renovering. Værelserne var desuden meget beskidte, og der var tydelige tegn på manglende grundig rengøring, herunder støv og snavs, der burde være blevet fjernet ved regelmæssig vedligeholdelse. På to af de tre værelser, vi havde booket, fandt vi endda glasskår i tæpperne. Desuden var morgenmadsbuffeten utilstrækkelig, da maden ikke blev løbende fyldt op. Jeg blev også opmærksom på, at en medarbejder i køkkenet sad og ordnede sit hår i selve buffétområdet, hvilket giver et meget uprofessionelt indtryk. Hun var desuden ikke imødekommende og vrissede af gæsterne, samt skubbede til dem, når hun skulle forbi. Derudover fik vi ikke de værelser, vi havde booket. Vi havde reserveret værelser med twin beds, men fik i stedet værelser med queen beds, hvilket var en skuffelse. På den positive side ligger hotellet i et fint område med gode spisemuligheder og er centralt placeret for at udforske byen. Men på grund af de nævnte problemer vil jeg desværre ikke kunne anbefale dette hotel til andre, da den generelle hygiejne og service ikke levede op til forventningerne.

Wonderful stay
We had a lovely stay here, couldnt fault anything, with spacious, clean, well decorated room with great equipment. The breakfasts were superb quality, with plenty of options for all tastes. There are several nice rest spaces on all floors with comfortable seating etc which give a great relaxation area. The Opera house is a 20 min walk away throuh the beautiful botanical gardens and many of the best known locations are only a short walk away. Overall we couldnt fault our stay there and will certainly be back on out next Sydney visit.

Didn’t felt seen
Got there, and asked about our requested porta cot. Was told it wasn’t requested. But we were assured that they had one. Got up to the room. Phone was disconnected, so went back down to reception an hour after check in to find out more about the porta cot. Reception was closed so used the hotel phone, was told they were out getting a solution. Two hours after check in, still hadn’t received, so went back down to use the phone in the entrance. Rang, said sorry but it is 6:30, any chance of that cot be up soon. Again was told they were working on it. 7:15 came, went down and rang again, was met with a sigh and told she was just finishing dinner with her husband and then she will bring it up. 7:30 came, booked another hotel as we didn’t feel looked after, and were a bother to be there. When heading down with our bags, passed the manager, and I said this probably because I booked through hotels.com, and she said we don’t deal with hotels.com.

A warm welcome
Really enjoyed this hotel. Excellent location near botanical garden, Opera House and other attractions. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean, comfortable rooms and nice range of breakfast choices.

Kitchen and cleaning staff good, management bad
I saw a mosquito in my room, and was kept up most of the night by bites on my head and neck. In subsequent days, I had extremely itchy open welts that took a week to heal. The staff said that mosquitos sometimes 'come in from the hallway' and I should have asked to have the room sprayed. Okay, either have your room sprayed or sleep with mosquitos biting. Unfortunately, I left a shirt and trousers in the closet...first time in my life of travel...probably from lack of sleep. I called, and was able to get reception on the phone once, but they don't answer email, and didn't answer my later calls. The kitchen and cleaning staff were good and the facility, though old, was workable. I don't like to give low ratings, but don't like to be ignored.
