I have stayed at the Renwick before and frankly my prior experience was better. This time I ended up with a room that had a bathroom sink maybe 8 inches by 12 inches making it very difficult to use.The room had no view and was a short distance from a brick wall of another building and back alley. Also the service was much more personal last time. They even greeted you by name when entering and exiting. And this time you had to carry your own bags to the room. I dont believe that was the case last time. Decent location, ok price and comfortable bed with decent shower. Otherwise ok.

Just at the front desk helped us check in and was so friendly! Was not expecting to have a balcony, that was a pleasant surprise. Room was very large compared to other NYC rooms I’ve been to. Service was amazing. Asked for extra pillows and they were delivered in less than 10 mins. Free drinking water in the rooms. Beds were very comfortable. Quiet location within walking distance of a lot. Grand central is right around the corner for the subway.

Great reception and attentive room service, with fresh towels and bedding provided daily throughout our three-night stay. The room was impeccably clean—especially the bathroom, which was spotless. Tea and coffee are available for those who enjoy them (though it’s not quite my cup of tea). The hotel also offers convenient access to both a bar and a gym, which was a nice bonus. Considering its location in the heart of Manhattan—close to Times Square, Grand Central, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and many other attractions—the value for the price was exceptional. It truly felt like I received more than I expected. I would confidently recommend choosing The Renwick.

The location was perfect, only two blocks from Grand Central Station. A short walk to anywhere of interest to us. The staff was professional, kind, and courteous. It was a great value, I felt like we should’ve paid more for what we got, but was glad we didn’t have to. I highly recommend this hotel, and will stay here again on my next trip to New York.

I do not recommend this hotel. We stayed at The Renwick Hotel between December 18th and 22nd, and to our surprise, we were charged a “Destination Fee” of $35 per night. This fee had a significant impact on the final cost of our stay, and we were not informed about it either during the pre-booking process or at check-in. No explanation was provided regarding this charge or what it included. Only later did we discover that it was intended to cover Wi-Fi access (which was neither fast nor stable) and a few amenities offered, such as two bottles of water and coffee available in the hotel lobby — which we consider unreasonable and abusive. The lack of transparency and clear information regarding this fee and what it actually provides led us to decide that we will never stay at this hotel again. The way this charge is applied, without proper disclosure or visibility, felt extremely dishonest. We have stayed at other hotels in New York where similar fees are clearly disclosed in advance, and the charged amount can actually be used within the hotel in a flexible way, according to the guest’s preference. There are certainly other hotels that charge destination or resort fees, but they do so in a transparent manner and genuinely return value to their guests — not in the misleading way this hotel does.

Great location! Housekeeping always turned down our bed and provided fresh towels. The bathroom was big compared to some other hotels we’ve stayed at in NYC. The bed was comfy. We would definitely stay here again!

4/10 Lumayan

The first night upon checking in around 2:30 am, my suite was obviously neglected. The baseboards, floors, lamps were all covered in dust. The floors were filthy, sheets and pillows were terrible, shower was not clean and the heat would not turn off. I requested another room and was told I would have to wait until later in the morning because they were full. The next morning I moved my luggage to a family members room and spoke to the manager about the situation and showed her pictures of the room. She told me she would call to discuss the issue and said it didn’t reflect the quality of The Renwick. When I told her about the issue with the heat, she deflected and said we should have called the engineer. Obviously at 3 am we just needed some rest and they did not have any other rooms available according to them. I never received the phone call to discuss the issues. It took multiple calls to even have water brought to the room. When I checked out, still no call from the manager. They offered a 20% discount on the first night only. The replacement room was much nicer, and the area is convenient. However, if you are looking for a quality stay, this is not it.
