This hotel was a bit cheaper than similar APA hotels, likely because it doesn't have a lot of facilities (there is no breakfast at the property) and for tourism, travelling from and onto the Asakusa line and Toei Asakusa line can be a bit of a trek. I enjoyed that the room was a bit bigger than in similar business hotels.
I did not enjoy a (for Japanese standards) strongly worded message I received from the hotel a day prior to my arrival, telling me I would lose my reservation unless I gave them an arrival time. First of all, why? A reservation is a reservation. Secondly, I was lucky that I was travelling from within the country and received the message at all, or I would have been left without a room. How is a first-time visitor gor example supposed to know their exact arrival time?
In the end, the staff member I brought this up with didn’t know about this, and neither was it a problem.
There was also a member of staff who, while they fulfilled my request, refused to speak to or look at me, this has never happened to me before. if you don’t enjoy working with foreigners, I suggest you should work somewhere else, perhaps?
