Little Gem in Chester
Quirky old pub with few rooms. Comfy bed & pillows, modern bathroom with toiletries. Lovely home cooked full English breakfast. Located with in easy walking distance to city center. Owner & staff very friendly & helpful.

Short stay have booked again
Stunning pub with stunning rooms. So good in fact we are coming back in a few weeks time. Breakfast was amazing and staff are very welcoming and friendly. We have been to Chester countless times and never been in here before. That's going to change!

Interesting stay in Chester
We had a lovely stay in Chester...our room was very quirky and interesting. Comfy bed. Staff were very chatty and welcoming. We had a wonderful breakfast..presented well and piping hot. Location good for walking the walls and exploring the town. Would defo stay again.

The Golden Eagle is a historic pub on the edge of Chester town centre (3 minute walk). It has retained its sense of history whilst incorporating a very individual decor and furnishings (sort of shabby chic)! The bedroom was very comfortable and a good size, whilst the breakfast was excellent. The staff were uniformly friendly and helpful making our stay even more memorable

All staff were really friendly and attentive. Room was clean bed was comfy and I like the decor. In a good location, easy walk into the centre. The WiFi however didn't reach my room which was a bit frustrating as I needed to do some work and there is no mobile service in Chester so couldn't hotspot. My windows also didn't close completely as it's an old building with original windows so was a tad noisy from the street but not a major issue.

Superb
Small, ultra-friendly hotel which punched well above its expected weight. For a very reasonable price, we got an excellently comfortable double room with a decent shower ensuite. The breakfast was superb (we had the full English) and the owners and staff were so friendly. I confess to liking my beer and there was a great choice of well-kept ales that we both dived into, when we were exhausted from exploring Chester.

What a unique and wonderful stay we had at the Golden Eagle. Rooms are above the pub (but we had no noise issues). The room and bed we comfortable, the breakfast was really good, and the conversations with the bartender, the owner, and the waitstaff were great. Nice people in a quite location just off a main road through Chester. Stay here!
