Good value, friendly staff
Enjoyed our stay. Good value, and happy with paying £2 per night for the secure parking per night. Very friendly staff. One small thing. Would you consider putting up signs saying only towels on floor will be changed. My towel was changed after only on use and was hanging up. Thinking a bit about the environment.

Friendly staff. Great breakfast!
I was using the Ox Hotel Manchester as a base for attending a conference (in a venue just 5 mins walk away so that was very helpful). Rooms are basic but very clean. Good shower, comfy bed. The room had plenty of plug sockets and lighting options. The stairwells give away that this building was not originally designed as a hotel. They are tired and dated but still clean. Three lifts all working. Never had to wait long and my room was on the top (14th floor). Slightly weird arrangement with the lifts is that on most floors, even when using a lift there are still stairs to negotiate. I think I did spot a stair lift on one of the floors though. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. A very good selection and all the food was fresh and tasty. Can't fault it. Brilliant choice.

Very weird hotel as its a converted office block, room was warm and clean however the mattress in our room had definitely seen better days and made for 2 nights of the worse nights sleep. Everything else about this hotel was ok

Hotel fine, parking be aware it’s a scam.
Hotel room was fine, check-in was okay, it’s a bit awkward because you have to go up to the first floor down some steps to check in, it’s not quite like a traditional hotel reception. The room was clean enough, and bathroom new, and unacceptable bed.In terms of location, its Eccles and Eccles, is Eccles! In terms of location, it’s circles Eccles and Eccles, is Eccles! Our main parking was the parking. On Hotels.com, it says parking is £2 all day. This is in fact the case, if only if you get your parking at hotel reception, on the first floor, bit. When you arrive in the car park, there’s clear notices saying that it’s £15 for 24 hours, with the driving car parking company, and that you must pay immediately on arrival. These notices are interpreted to form the contract, for your parking there. Nowhere does it seem to say that if you’re a hotel residence, there is an exemption, or a discount, that can be obtained by paying for the Parking Through a code in reception. Therefore, if you do not pay for parking on arrival, you would be in breach of contract and liable for the £100 fine, technically speaking. And we know these car parking companies work on technicalities. So this is both misleading And unfortunately when I spoke to reception, they seemed impotent to help that said well helpless and ineffective, they were polite. It’s all very well getting it reasonable value hotel room, but if the cost of your state goes up by 25% due to car parking, what’s the point?

A decent budget hotel! Negatives- aesthically the let down is the paint work on the walls with lots of marks on, the bathroom was nice and modern but did have some mould in parts so some bleach could do wonders Positives- clean comfy enough bed (maybe thicker pillows needed) But on the whole we was happy and would stay again as reasonabley priced

Good value hotel
Stayed in this hotel several times when going for a night out in Manchester. It’s always clean, staff are friendly and drinks prices are reasonable plus it’s really easy to get into the city centre. The hotel is pretty basic and the area isn’t exactly the best however it’s good value.

Awful experience
The moment we arrived at the hotel, we went straight to the reception expecting a basic level of service which is provided in 99% of hotels, ended up being a pipedream. We literally had to wait 30 to 40 mins because the lady at the desk was confused what room we booked, which was a triple room confirmed via the booking. Apparently this was due to a system error which took a long time to resolve. Special mentions about the room which are the following: 1. Dirty kettle. Pure filth with limescame rampant inside. 2. Bed. One of the single beds is completely obliterated at the foot end and also in the middle which has destroyed the comfort of our stay, and eradicates its purpose in the first place. We noticed this after the shocking closure of the reception lobby which is supposed to be open for 24 hrs. 3. Bedsheets. Causing discomfort and itchiness which is highly unusual. We were told the cleaners would assess the room before we went into it. 4. Bathroom. Marks and rust in certain areas which shows a lack of maintenance. 5. Room temperature control is broken. Seems old.
