Handlery Union Square Hotel
"Just a little run down. Rooms did not have fridges or microwaves."
Hilton San Francisco Union Square
"Nice gym but super crowded during the peak hours"
Crowne Plaza San Francisco Airport by IHG
"I really enjoyed having our room cleaned everyday. Our room was very quiet we were able to rest."
Hotel Riu Plaza Fisherman's Wharf
"Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was the best I've ever had at a hotel. Hotel was very clean and I didn't notice a single bug anywhere (I've stayed at some bad hotels in the past and this is important) Location was excellent. It was a great stay overall. Now for the negatives,... Air conditioner was very noisy and didn't seem to get cold enough, toilet seat seems to be coming off hinge, the outside pool was not heated and the worst thing for me is they charge an extra $165.00 at check-in. It's more than a little annoying when you think you've paid in full and arrive to find out you still have to pay for some hidden fees."
Hyatt Regency San Francisco
"Such an incredibly unique hotel on the inside. We loved the ambiance. Felt clean and classy and also like we were in Star Wars."
Hotel Nikko San Francisco
"The pool was great, and the staff was very helpful checking in."
The Pickwick Hotel
"Staff was friendly and helpful when needed anything or directions. Felt safe with hotel key entry only. I would recommend to stay here."
Hotel Julian
"Loved staying here. Clean room, clean lobby. Helpful, friendly staff. The bartender wasn’t my favorite but there’s a great dive bar down the street and lots of other places to drink in the city. Planning another stay soon."
Fairmont San Francisco
"Even a second floor room in the Tower is an incredible view of the bay and Coit tower. We had the corner 1bd suite but saw regular rooms on our floor with the sane exact view. Stunning!!"

This approach may help you secure a timely hotel deal for your getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate due to various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates could potentially help you find a better deal for your stay in a San Mateo hotel. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised atmosphere and may sometimes offer enhanced value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we may recommend alternative dates that could lead to more affordable options.
- Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre generally tend to be more expensive, but with San Mateo’s outstanding public transport connections, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well-linked.
