South Miami Avenue is where you’ll find most of Brickell’s top shopping spots, bars and restaurants. Mary Brickell Village is an open-air shopping complex. Heading south along the River Walk Trail takes you to the leafy grounds of the waterfront Brickell Park. Further south, near the yachts and condos of Brickell Place Marina, is the 7.8-acre Simpson Park. It’s a retreat great for families, with lush trails and a tropical hardwood hammock and native and threatened plants. The park is also wheelchair accessible.

Brickell is just 1 mile south of Downtown Miami, across the Miami River. You can take Miami-Dade Transit’s Dadeland South bus number 9105, which will take you from Government Center in Downtown to Brickell in under 20 minutes.
