Texas might be the most famous American state, with a rugged and proud people. The Lone Star State is described as a place you don’t mess with, where everything’s bigger, and is famous for cowboys, open plains and remembering The Alamo.

Of course, it’s not all 6-shooters and Stetsons. The bigger cities like Houston, San Antonio, Dallas and Austin are increasingly cosmopolitan places. Like the state itself, each has its own unique quirks and culture.
