We had very bad surprises at arrival: no air conditioning when it was 40C/103F and under major renovation! We book the rooms in April and didn’t get any notice of this! My parents in law, in their eighties, nearly suffered a heat stroke! The renovation work was just above our rooms, from early morning, even during the weekend! They offered us to cancel the booking and to ask Hotels.com for a refund but how do you find 2 rooms in Paris city centre last minute at a decent price and how to be sure we would get our money back?!
They gave us fans that were so dirty that they blew dust! The staff was trying their best to be helpful but clearly were overwhelmed by the situation. The management knew about the situation as they are closing the hotel from July 15th 25.
They should have let us know in advance or offer another solution or at least give us a partial refund. Clearly this management doesn’t care about their clients or reputation. So they should not be in the tourism industry. As a French leaving in Canada, I’m ashamed by this type of attitude!
